Outline Text

New Here ,
Jul 24, 2025 Jul 24, 2025

All of a sudden I can't outline text anymore. Using Adobe Express app. This feature is crucial to making text pop in smaller thumbnails. Is this feature now hidden somewhere? It's not anywhere under the text effects. I hope I don't need to start using a diffferent program.

Hi @Greg36864753us1a,

Thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear you're having trouble. The outline text feature should still be available in Adobe Express, typically under Effects. If it’s missing:

  • Try restarting the app or checking for updates.

  • Make sure you’re editing a standard text layer (some fonts or templates may restrict options).

  • If the issue persists, please let us know your device and app version. We’ve shared this information with the engineering team and will keep you updated.

We understand the importance of this feature and appreciate your patience.

It is clearly an update which has either removed or hidden this feature. I've created thousands of YouTube thumbnails using this program; always outlining text by selecting the text box, and using the "outline" option which was prominently displayed when a text box is selected. The options to then select the colour and thickness of outline would appear.  After the last update, it has changed. It is not, and has never been in the "text effects" option. I'm using an iPhone 16pro.

Hi @Greg36864753us1a ,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the confusion! On mobile, the layout has changed a bit — the Outline option is still available under Effects, but you’ll need to scroll all the way to the right to find it. You can check the attached video as an example. Let us know if you still can't locate it — we're here to help!

I am also experiencing this issue on the latest version of Adobe PS Express for iOS.  The UI I have does not resemble the UI in the video.
