WHY Must you KEEP touching your products?

Community Beginner ,
Mar 12, 2025 Mar 12, 2025

Buttons are constantly going missing,

now the media button vanished,

Changes to software,

LEAVE THE SOFTWARE ALONE, IT'S MAKING YOU MONEY, ISN'T IT?

Please stop touching it. Our design team is struggling with adobe because of this, PLEASE STOP. It works, don't touch it, invest something new with that software engineering budget, stop touching stuff.

Sincerely,

Infuriated Adobe Express Customer.

You know, other companies like Discord have an entire dedicated feature for "experimenting" on end users: THE BETA PROGRAM. Maybe you should implement something like that instead of making changes to a random amount of users without asking which screws over our experiences. Let the users choose whether they want those "experimental" changes, almost every program that does this and is worth its weight in salt allows the end user to toggle this feature AT WILL and will even give warnings, "Hey, by the way, if you turn on experimental features, some things may be different or might break! Beware!"

It says a lot when Adobe just says, "Yep we're forcing some of our users to test our experiments because screw you," Instead of either A) Collecting voluntary beta/experimental data, or B) Using voluntary focus groups of people who already regularly use the platform and are experienced with it to test experimental changes before you launch them to the general public userbase (to rule out any changes prior to widespread implementation), etc.

It isn't good business practice and it's manipulative.

A/B Feature tests should be opt-in. We are in live work enviroments, Amitej. Please acknowledge that these actions impact the bottom line of our businesses because we lose man-hours on projects instead spent trying to understand or investigate "updates" that are completely undocumented.

Are all Adobe's UI designers clueless with nothing better to do? They don't understand what they are doing.

Same. I love technological growth, but it HAS to be better. I've seen posts like this for awhile and never thought I'd be one of the people to leave. The value seemed to outweigh the issues. I'm at my tipping point. The amount of times this software has embarrassed me in front of my peers and other professional settings is more damaging than staying. Constantly having to change my workflow because there's an unannounced and usually unnecessary change. It's a total slap in the face to people who pay SO MUCH MONEY. Not only do I have my own professional account but my company has enterprise and I had to consider what it will look like when I walk it back saying this isn't the option for us, and still, it's time to cut our losses. I HATE looking into other option, but even if they're not as feature heavy, I'll be much more relieved with consistency and transparency.

Can you give us an option to move those elements and images to the side bar? Like, so we can choose what we want to access on the sidebar. I really like the way it ewas before without having to click on add.

I'm also not allowed to hit the delete button on my mac anymore to delete an image/text. Now I have to select and then right click to delete? Is this a glitch?

Hey @Jubilant_warmth5622, Having a customizable sidebar is a great feature to have in Adobe Express. You can let our product team know about it by posting a suggestion here: https://adobe.ly/4iJMoFh;

as for the issue with the delete button, can you share a screen recording with the workflow and the issue for us to understand and investigate it further?

Thanks!

What room temp IQ decided to take items we use the most and bury them in the UI?

STOP CHANGING THE UI JUST TO CHANGE THE UI.  This is not making things better and goes against standard UI design.  Why would you take something that took one to two clicks to access and now make it three to five clicks?  Honestly, what is it you would say you do here?  #MakeWork

It appears I am part of a traunch of profiles that have this update where all the Media, Elements, Text, etc are all nested under this new "Add+" button. (See image) This adds addtional time to workflows. I understand you are trying to make finding things to add to designs easier, but I ask, sternly, for this to be reversed. I would recommend, instead, that adding Text, Media (Images/Video) and Design Elements remain their own buttons. They DO need to be clearly defined, and located near one another. DO NOT keep this "Add+" button, with everything behind it, as the default.

Additional recommendation: Have a "beginner" or "basic" UI option for those new to Express, and an "Advanced" UI for professionals.

Hi Adobe team,

I’m writing to share my frustration with the current state of Adobe Express. What was once a fast, intuitive, and smooth tool has now become confusing, clunky, and far from user-friendly. The recent updates have significantly worsened the experience.

Here are a few major issues:

1.Lack of Intuitiveness: The new interface is difficult to navigate. Simple tasks take longer, and the layout feels overcomplicated rather than streamlined.

2.iPad Still Locked to Landscape Mode: It’s 2025 why is Adobe Express still limited to landscape mode on iPad? This restricts flexibility and usability, especially for quick edits or social media workflows on the go.

3.No Option to Choose App Version: Why can’t we choose which version of Adobe Express we want to use? It’s clear that older versions still exist on the backend. Allowing users to opt in or out would be an easy feature to build. It’s frustrating to be forced into a version that doesn’t suit our workflow.

If things continue in this direction, I will be moving my entire company’s creative projects away from Adobe permanently. I’ve already started exploring alternative tools that prioritize speed, simplicity, and user choice. I’ll also be recommending everyone I know in the creative space to do the same. As loyal users, we deserve better than being forced into inefficient, poorly thought-out updates.

Honestly, what’s the point of pushing a less functional version without giving users a choice? Many long-time users are disappointed, and this change feels like a multiple steps backward rather than an upgrade.

I hope Adobe considers user feedback seriously and reintroduces flexibility, speed, and simplicity to the app.

Thanks,

What happened to the grid feature?

You already replaced the old collage feature and made it way less useful with the newer grid feature, and now even that's gone?

Hey @defaultdltcw6bfamfz, Welcome to our Adobe Express Community!!

The grid/collage feature is still available in Adobe Express. Within the app it is termed as GRIDS, you can click on the '+' icon to find them with some other options (please refer to the screenshot)

Let us know, if you still are unable to find it.

Best,

Amitej

Hey @Paul31875590ru94, Our team is conducting an experiment that may run for about two weeks, which is why you're getting to experience UI changes in the Adobe Express app.

Feel free to share your experience and feedback on this, as it will help us improve the Adobe Express app user experience.

Best,

Amitej

I'm a premium subscriber and honestly disappointed. Even the basic ability to create a 6-photo collage now feels like a scavenger hunt.

This constant UI experimentation might be fine for casual users, but for those of us who rely on Adobe Express for quick, efficient tasks, it’s frustrating.

Please bring back an easy, no-nonsense collage tool — no templates, no fluff, just a clean grid layout where we can drag and drop photos.

Hi @brandon_4545

You should still be seeing the default duotone preset. I believe the image effects panel reorganization was driven by the need to expose more much-requested features (like shadows and richer filters, some of which you may be seeing already)

Hi @marmoye,

It sounds like your Adobe Express interface has changed unexpectedly, possibly due to an update or a glitch. Here are some steps you can try to restore the missing tools:

  1. Check for Updates – Make sure you're using the latest version of Adobe Express.

  2. Reset the Interface – Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in to see if the tools reappear.

  3. Clear Cache and Cookies – Sometimes, clearing your browser cache can fix UI glitches.

  4. Try a Different Browser – If you’re using Chrome, try Firefox (or vice versa) to check if it's a browser-specific issue.

  5. Check the Workspace Settings – Some tools might be hidden under different menus after an update. Look under the “More” or “Customize” options in the toolbar.

If none of these steps work, let me know, and I can guide you through other troubleshooting methods!

Best regards,

^MM
