Can't upscale after expanding with generative fill

With Adobe firefly: I've generated an image, then decided to expand it with generative fill. Once I was pleased with the image there was no longer an option to upscale like there is at the start.

If I go back, I lose the image... How can I upscale the quality after expanding? Or how can I go back without losing the image?

Hello @Jeroen30813667cj3b,

Thank you for your message. I am sorry you are having this problem.

Unfortunately, you cannot upscale it with Firefly after taking the image to Generative Fill. You would need to upscale first and then take to Generative Fill.

Thanks,

Hello @caitlynk93859791,

When you expand an image, it will only expand to 2000x2000. If your expansion is larger you will lose resolution. Did you expand to an area larger than 2000x2000?

My best,
