Question

I can't manage to use Firefly API

Hello everyone,

I am trying to figure out why I cannot an Adobe project using the Firefly API. Some context:

I only paid for Firefly when creating my account. I try to follow these steps https://developer.adobe.com/firefly-services/docs/guides/get-started/, creating a project and then adding the Firefly services API. However, when I try the API seems unavailable. Looking for the API on the catalog, it shows this message:

I can only see 1 API on the admin console:

How can I enable the Firefly API? Am I supposed to have access, and if not, how can I have it?

Hi @droopydog500 ,

We used the Photoshop API in the past but as the API function merged into Adobe Firefly we do not have acces to the API anymore. Now we want to acces Adobe Firefely but I cannot see where we can buy or receive access? We have put in a request but I'm not sure if this is the correct way to go?

Hello @jan_4051,

The local Adobe administrator for an Enterprise account is the person who needs to enable users to use the Firefly API. That is who the request went to. If you are not sure who that is in your organisation, contact your IT department and ask them.

@Yahor37679609svy4 my take (and managing an enterprise account) is

1. Even as an enterprise customer - this is a contractual add-on with an additional cost.

2. Enterprise customers have a higher level of scrutiny/legal responsibility via contracts with Adobe.

3. This API integrates with a much larger solution called Gen Studio which is built for Enterprise/Experience Manager accounts.

I had the same question and was very disapointed to find this topic.
Why it's so unfair in relationship to individual users? Why I can't get an access to firefly api as individual? Just don't understand the polytic of the company.

Thank you Kevin. I guess then I won't be able to use the API :')

@Pablo37229101j1yz Enterprise accounts are contracted accounts with minimum 100 users.

This is probably a good starting point: https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/business/enterprise.html

I do not have an enterprise account and am not sure what the costs are.

Thank you droopydog. Is it available for enterprise accounts? If I create a single app business subscription for 38 dollars per month, will I have access to the API?

Ok. I am sorry to tell you that the Firefly API is not available to individual accounts.  Hopefully it will be in the future.

Hi droppydog,

I am an administrator. I bough my plan as an individual (so, not as business; student or teacher; school or university). Mentioning just in case it is relevant.

Hello @Pablo37229101j1yz,

Thank for your message.  I am not an expert on using APIs for Adobe products. Are you an administrator for an Enterprise account? The Firefly API is only available to Enterprise accounts.  I do not have an enterprise account and when I go to the developer page and create a new project and click on "Add API":

Firefly is not listed as an available API for me:
