Dear Community,

Why I can't use the font from Open Font License (open for personal and commercial purpose) for my develop mobile apps? It does not appear.

Is that mean that for mobile app - Adobe only option is to purchase it from the foundry and reseller even though the font is a free font?

TQ.

The font is free, but you must comply with their licensing terms. Google fonts like Poppin are licensed under the Open Font License which you can learn about here https://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=OFL

Hi @DariusIka, if the font doesn't appear, I'd suggest trying to add with this method (if you haven't tried yet): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NOgkkFZNo0 Hope this helps!

Hi @Akin Gundogan , thanks great man!

but can we create the font for the usage of mobile app.

Coz it seems that Adobe require the developer to only use the licensed font for Mobile app.

Hi @DariusIka, can't be sure I think it's a font specific issue right. I'd suggest asking to support etc since I don't want to misdirect you, let's see if anyone suggest anything else.

Hi @DariusIka,

Thank you for reaching out. In addition to what our expert has suggested. We would like to add that the Adobe Font license does not support embedding fonts in mobile apps. Embedding the fonts in the app would fall under an app or app embed license. These licenses are often sold by the foundry that owns them and other resellers.
The font is available for free here: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Poppins.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

Harshika

Thanks again @Akin Gundogan . Really appreciate your response.

Hi @HARSHIKA_VERMA when you said "Embedding the fonts in the app would fall under an app or app embed license" and "The font (poppin) is available for free" ,

Is that mean that although the font is free but I still have to purchase it from foundry/reseller in order for me to embed it in my mobile app?

@DariusIka, as far as I understand from @HARSHIKA_VERMA's response, since the font is free, it looks like you don't need to purchase it to embed into the app, if you still are not sure and would like be 100% sure, I'd suggest contacting the creator studio/designer of the font and ask directly to them, summarizing the usage you have in mind. Hope this helps!
