Animation > Sequence Layers doesn't respect selection order

Advocate ,
Jan 18, 2022 Jan 18, 2022

Normally, the order in which I select the layers dictates the sequencing when I do a Keyframe Assistant > Sequence Layers, but in AE 22.2.0x105 (Beta), it always sequences them starting with the top layer, ending with the bottom layer, regardless of the selection order.

It also used to be possible to select layers bottom up /top down - cut/paste to reverse stacking order. (im sure im not explaining it properly)

wasnt sure if that was gone, or just something to be worked out / not working in the beta

I missed this report before posting my own here.

Weirdly, the correct behaviour is back in v22.2 (released since you posted this) but is now wrong in v22.3

Hi all,

Thank you for reporting this issue. As I mentioned on @mave1969's post, there is a known issue where having the new Properties panel open causes the selection order to be ignored by both copy/paste and Sequence Layer. Please try closing the Properties panel and see if the selection order is again respected so we can determine if this is the known issue ( which is being worked on ) or a new issue.

Thanks again all,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team
