After Effect - Warp Stabilizer BUG

Dear Adobe Support Team,

I am a subscriber to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, regularly working with your software, including After Effects. Last year, I reported an issue with the Warp Stabilizer effect in After Effects that has persisted despite numerous troubleshooting attempts.

An Adobe consultant assisted me remotely, spending over three hours adjusting settings, installing drivers, and exploring potential solutions. Ultimately, I was informed that the issue—where applying the Warp Stabilizer causes severe stuttering in clips—could not be resolved in the current version. Instead, I was directed to use the 2022 version of After Effects, where this problem does not occur.

However, it is now 2025, and I am still unable to update After Effects without encountering the same issue. This significantly disrupts my workflow and makes it impossible for me to take advantage of newer features or enhancements.

I kindly request the following:

  1. A clear timeline for resolving this issue.
  2. A proposal for compensation or alternative solutions, as this problem has persisted for over a year, severely impacting my work.

I have a record of my chat with your support team, including the details of my report and assistance provided. I can also provide my account information for verification.

I am growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress. Please address this matter urgently and provide a resolution or an acceptable alternative.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi @Marketing SERAFIN P.U.H,

Thank you for reporting this issue and for the screen recording. I attempted to recreate your issue on Windows using 3 4K MP4s at 50fps, but was unable to see the same poor preview performance after applying Warp Stabilizer.

In the video you shared, I'm not able to see the settings you've used when creating the proxies, which may have an effect on the performance. Would you be able to re-record the same repro with dialogs and menus shown so that we can further investigate?

Additionally, are you rendering the proxies to the same storage location as the original files? If the proxies are on slower storage, that could also affect performance.

Lastly, please try your scenario using the latest Beta, as we are constantly making improvements and it would provide a useful data point if the behavior is the same.

Thank you again for reporting and for any further information,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team

Dear Adobe Support,

I would like to report a problem. Several months ago, I started a thread regarding issues and bugs related to the use of Warp Stabilizer. One of the moderators reached out to me and even connected remotely to my computer. He asked for my project files, a detailed description of the problem, and my system specifications. He promised to get back to me with a solution.

Unfortunately, I haven’t heard from him since. He has not responded to any follow-up posts or emails. It feels like I’ve been completely ignored. Is this really how customer support is supposed to work?

No idea what's going on. It seems that nishu_kush is no longer working at Adobe — email communication has stopped, no response to DMs either. The issue remains unresolved, exactly where it was left. Outstanding customer service from Adobe — really top-level approach and attitude towards clients...

The system and graphics card drivers are up to date and were updated at the time as well. I am using an RTX 4090 and an AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor. This issue occurs on every possible resolution, as shown in the video when I enable and disable proxies.

Windows 11 is kept up to date and was updated by a consultant. The same version of the program was downloaded, and earlier versions were also tested, but the issue only disappeared with the 2022 version.

The video files I use are MP4, but the issue occurs with other video codecs as well.
I want to point out that the consultant also changed the program settings, both to ensure the graphics card was being used and to set it to use only the processor. Neither of these adjustments made any difference or resolved the issue.

Thanks for sharing the screen recording. I can see the issue. Do you mind sharing the following details:

  • What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?
  • Driver version of the GPU driver.
  • Does it happen with media with lower resolution (Full HD or HD media)?
  • Is it happening with a specific type of media?

I understand you've shared these details before but unfortunately, I am unable to access the case details at the moment.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Nishu
