Faster timeline navigation whith Shift J and Shift K (AZERTY keyboard)

These keyboard shortcuts do not work with an AZERTY keyboard because for several years now every time a new shortcut that uses the Shift key is added the same mistake is made. You translate the call of the key of the keyboard by indicating Maj instead of Shift in the file of shortcuts.

(there is another place where you have also translated "(Esc)" into " (Echap)", you must not translate the names of the keys in the shortcut file, otherwise it does not work!)

Hi Bruno,

I've been testing on my side on my Azerty keyboard on a french version of AE. I cannot reproduce. I'll reach out to you shortly to get more details.

Cheers,
Seb

Bon alors, t’as vu ?

GROS GIZMO.index.png

For me it doesn't work properly either. But I am on a QWERTZ keyboard with german After Effects.

What I found out so far is, with the default keys.txt (After Effects-Standard.txt) there is kind of a mixture going on.

All commands are in English but the new command is in German:

"PrevKeyframe" = "(J)"

"VorherigerAusgew"E4"hlterKeyframe" = "(Umschalt+J)"

The new command is not showing up in After Effects at all. Even when searching for it in the shortcut panel - nothing.

Then I switched to english After Effects and got the "After Effects Default.txt":

"PrevKeyframe" = "(J)"
"PrevKeyframeInSelection" = "(Shift+J)"

And there I have the new command - everything as expected. So I switched back to german After Effects, tried to rename the german command with the english one (in the "After Effects-Standard.txt") - no success BUT when using the "After Effects Default.txt" with the german After Effects I can access the new command. Very strange...

My workaround for now is: use the "After Effects Default.txt" as a starting point and change the shortcuts that are different from your default keys.txt

Hope, you'll find the solution for all languages.

Greetings,

Robert

I can't check all versions, but this problem appeared with the new 3d gizmo (which is too big). Since then, every new shortcut is added incorrectly, with wrong references to keyboard keys and wrong references to commands. You have to modify the shortcuts text file to activate the right shortcuts. I don't know when Adobe will fix this problem that I reported more than 2 years ago.

We would have liked a small sign from Adobe teams to tell us that this problem has been seen. It's just a text file that needs to be fixed to have access to the new shortcuts when not using the US version.

Hi Bruno,

we've been talking together on a french community, so you not only know that we're aware of the issue (plus I also responded there initialy), but you also know we have a repro issue internaly.

Your last message was sent on a sunday, and we are tuesday morning here. It doesn't feel to me that we've being either unresponsive nor not keeping you in the loop about this issue.

Have a nice day,

Sebastien

This is what worries me a lot, because just open the shortcuts txt file and look
I have given all possible information since September 28. And I noticed the problem 2 years ago but I didn't understand that it was the shortcut txt file.

How many years does it take to be responsive at Adobe?
"Maj" instead of "Shift" in the French shortcut file, this started happening over 2 years ago.

Is there anything new on the subject?
