After Effects Show Layer Controls always turning off

This has been happening for years and I'm finally at the end of my line here. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have to turn 'show layer controls' on twice an hour. I can't believe that I'm always hitting the hot key on accident. It's starting to drive me CrAZy! 

 

Has there been a fix for this?

    Have you tried running After Effects in Safe Mode? If not, give it a try. If it works fine in Safe Mode, resetting the preferences should fix this.

    This is happennin gto me as well and its very annoying.  Somehting new for me.

    I was actually able to capture it. I just changed comps. That's it. I didnt even touch my keyboard.

    Does it only happen when switching comps or does it happen randomly in other ways?

    And all the obligatory drivel...

    what version of AE are you using?

    OS version?

    Drivers up to date?

    Cache cleaned?

    Prefs reset?

    Non-obligatory drivel...

    Are you using a hard wired keyboard or wireless? 

    If wireless can you switch to a hard wired board and see if it stops?

    Nah, I dont think it's a graphics card issue. It literally just happened to me again. I just switched from one comp to the other and they turned off again. I will kill the hotkey just in case that fixes it.
