Composition not showing anymore

Hello,

I am following an AE course to learn all the skills. Now everthing was going fine, following every step. Made a simple animation, rendered it, looked nice.
Now I was opening AE last week and all of the sudden I can't view the composition anymore.
Also tried loading a movie file, jpeg, png. Nothing. I searched the internet but just can't find a sollution.

I run AE on a mac, Catalina
Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)

4,2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

48 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

Radeon Pro 580 8 GB

After Effects 17.03 (going back to older version doesn't help)
Reinstalles AE several times, reinstalled CC several times. Wired frames is unchecked.

Would love some advise, thank you!

UPDATE: after updating to 17.04 it all worked again!
Okay, back to the same issues, after finishing the animation and restarting AE the preview of the composition are not there anymore.. It is driving me crazy, it must me somehing simple right?

Another update on the issue. I think I figured it out. I think it is the Creative Cloud app that is causing this. The CC app somehow looses connection after a while. I knew this all ready, but didn't think this would affect using a programm.
If I restart my mac the connection is back and then I can preview my composition again.
So this means everytime I want to work in AE or start a new project I need to restart the computer.
I already have run some of the fixes that Adobe advices, but it hasn't fixed the problems in my case.

Sorry for the delayed response.

One of the After Effects users found a lead and resolve the issue. Check out the community thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/composition-screen-frozen-and-not-displaying-timeline/m-p/10963374?page=1#M105479

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,

Nishu

Could you share a download link for your system info file so that we can investigate it further? Here how you can find it:

Mac- https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/system-information/syspr35536/mac

Windows- https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7822-create-system-information-file-windows-10-a.html

Hi,

Thank you for your reply!

I am a little hesistant to put all that information online because it also contains private information I guess?

What do you need to know about my system and I will look it up.

Hello Martin,

Here is a screenshot with the small animation. When I double click nothing happens, the timeline does show and plays, but I can't view it (anymore). Same goes for other files I import. Thanks!
