Hola,

Estoy aprendiendo a usar after effects.

Carefully check the effect in the Effects Control Panel. Match Grain has a Preview area that is about 200 X 200. There are several plug-ins with that same preview feature. Noise is not one of them. If you select the Preview option and change it to Final Output, the effect will be applied to the entire layer.

If you are having problems with a specific effect, it is often a good idea to type the name of the effect in the Search Help field in the top right corner of After Effects. Most of the ti

Start by opening the Learn Workspace from the Welcome Screen or by looking in the Window/Workspace menu. Spend a half hour learning the basics of the UI.

You should now be able to open After Effects, Create a new composition with the frame size, frame rate, and duration you want, save your new Project file, and then start adding footage and layers as needed to begin building your effects shot.

Remember that After Effects is not a video editing app. It is not designed to edit movies or even short videos. AE is a visual effects, motion graphics, and animation app designed to create shots that you edit into a movie using a video editing app (NLE) like Premiere Pro.

Thank you for your answer but I believe you didn't understand my question, I'm not talking about the composition, I'm talking about the effects. When I put a new effect like noise, it displays a small box that is 200 pixels x 200 pixels, and I don't know how to change it's size in a easy way (I just found an option in preview region), and I can't make it bigger than 1024 pixels, so how to use it when you have a bigger video?

Thanks again and I hope you understand it now.

If your course does not explain the use of the Effects Control Panel, then it is probably not very good.

Hello Rick,

It was the final output option so when I changed, the effect was in all the composition, thank you so much.

Hello again,

Rick, do you know any way to change the preview size of the noise effect so it always keeps that way? When I put it is 200x200 pixels, but I would like to have it bigger but always, not to have to change it every time, is it possible? Or is it best to always put final output?

Thanks again!

You need Final Output to apply the effect to the whole layer. These options are in effects that can take a very long time to render so you can quickly preview the results and get the settings you want in seconds instead of minutes.

Ok, I understand, but there is any way to make it bigger and always get it that way? Because in Preview size is VERY small, I almost cannot see the effect until I put it in Final output, it´s such a small window that it´s hard to see what it does. At least that happens with the noise effect. At least it would be nice to have always a 500x500 pixels window and not always have to change it´s size everytime I apply a new noise effect to an image or video.
