Will there be no update for Animate this year?

Commenting to say that ADOBE is a joke of a company. People are giving so much money for their products yet here we are, ONE whole year without a single update. Flash and Animate gave life to so many creators, I don't understand how the company that created this software can't see the potential of its own creation. Ridiculous stuff.

Perhaps a collective claim should be made about not complying with the Anímate update, and request a refund of the corresponding portion. Such an event would be reported in the specialized press.

Notwithstanding the good intent behind your post: once more history repeats itself here. As with other products being sidelined by Adobe and development stopped, users proposed the exact same legal actions, class action suits, etcetera etcetera.

It has never worked, and it never will (with Adobe). When Freehand was cancelled by Adobe, the Freehand community started legal action, and even had a in-person meeting with Adobe's management. In the end nothing could be/was done or resolved.

So while I understand the sentiment, history shows us that there is absolutely no point in trying. Been there, done that. Pointless.

LOL. Just like kglad said, Adobe cares 0%.  Still, I can't believe they have everyone hanging like this.

Well... it depends on what you are looking for.  If it is updates to the IDE then, yes, we have to wait, but if it is code updates, we have thousands as ZIM extends CreateJS which is what Animate outputs to!  https://zimjs.com/animate including 50 components, dozens of controls to operated on clips like Emitter, Pack, Pages, Layout, Parallax, Book, Tile, MotionController, Physics, etc.  Add you work to three.js as interactive textures, sockets, game module with LeaderBoard, isometric board, all sorts of conveniences like one line drag and drop, multiple hit tests.  We just integrated the Flash BitmapData class into our version of CreateJS for easy coloring.  We are very active and have been for the last 10 years.  We are happy to help.

i'm not awaiting any updates, though it would be nice to be confident that animate will work decently on mac.

I don't even use Adobe Animate for personal projects; I much prefer a couple of the other 2D apps. But I have to use Animate at a couple of colleges where I teach, so it would be nice to know what's going on.
