so im using different music in an animation in animate. ive made a new layer and named it music. i make a black keyframe and put music on it. i want it to play for a few moments and then stop. how do i do this? i know this is a dumb question but i put it down and tried to remove all of the sound by removing the frames, whidch is usually how i get rid of frames but the music stilll plays.
that's a graphic rep letting your control the sound volume
you should see something like this
see the lines above the sound profile and that box at the top of the left and right channels?
the lines represent the volume effect done by animate. the pic shows an unchanged sound with no changes made. the boxes are control handles. you can drag them down to decrease the sound's volume.
click the line to add more control handles. rather than me give an exhaustive tutorial, experiment and ask more questions if you need more help.
well, animate is not a sound editor. if you want more control, use audition.
no, you can't amplify over 100% using that. use audition.

set the sound's sync property to stfeam stream.
put an empty keyframe where you want the music to stop.
p.s. using a sound envelope to decrease sound volume is more satisfactory than an abrupt stop.

what exactly do you do to make a fade out? or do anything? it looks like a bunch of squiggly lines.

so i kind of figured it out. it seems you have to make the square dots make a curve going down. oddly sometimes moving one on the bottom will make one on the top move and vice versa. why does this happen? you can play what you have however there is no line or anything that moves while it plays. there seems to be a little bit of guess work.

You can make the sound level higher by duplicating the sound layer and adjusting the volume of the copy if it's too loud.
