Question

Apollo Twin Interface and Adobe Audition

Hi-I just installed an Apollo Twin interface, and now cannot get it to work with AA 2020. AA was working perfectly with my Audient Driver, so I know this is an issue with installing a new interface. Any help, greatly appreciated. Thanks!

In that case it's almost certainly going to be a driver issue. Before we can go any further though, does your installation meet all of the requirements here? I believe with these devices that getting all of this right is important...

If it's an Apollo Twin, does this mean you are using a Mac? (I realise that the answer is probably yes, but these days it doesn't have to be...) Does it show up in your hardware settings at all?

Hi Steve,

I'm brand new to recording work. I cannot get Adobe Audition (AA) to record from the Apollo preamp on MacbookPro.

SUBJECTIVE

  • I hear my voice in the mic.
  • AA Preference/Audio Hardware for I/O is set to UD Thunderbolt (Apollo Twin X)
  • If I switch I/O back to MacbookPro, then AA will record

EQUIP ENT & SOFTWARE

  • 2020 Intel based MacbookPro
  • macOS Monterey vs. 12.6
  • Adobe Audition vs 23.0.0.54
  • Pre-amp: Apollo Twin X

Thank you,

Thomas

I'm not a Mac user, but it's possible (from what others have said) that this could be a Permissions issue within the OS, especially as it appears to be fundamentally working. You do have to note, though, that there are some very specific requirements that the machine has to meet - the root page for the requirements is this one - you have to find the specific guidance for what you've got, and make sure that the machine meets them.
