Audition crashes when trying to relink audio file in multi-track

I have an edited podcast with several interviews and all files are in a multitrack, but for some odd reason each file is linking to one audio file. The correct files are still named in the multitrack timeline.

So I tried to delete the one file that is playing for all my tracks, when I do that all clips in the timeline say offline.

I then tried to relink media with the correct file but I get the spinning beachball of death and audition will crash.

Thankfully I exported the entire podcast and can edit it, but I wanted to edit my working file.

Any ideas? And yes, my backup file is doing the same thing. I can go back a few versions, but then lose changes.  Why does Audition do this? I haven't moved my files.

You will probably need someone to investigate your saved .sesx session file to see what file path Audition is trying to access. Our Audition Session expert may be along later to help but he lives in Australia so is probably asleep at the moment.

Alternatively since this results in a crash try the advice in the FAQ Audition Crashed. Now what? and get your log files to the Developers to analyse.

Thanks ryclark - haven't had much sleep lately but that is another story for another time ;-)

If the OP wants to email me his sesx file to info at aatranslator dot com dot au I would be more than happy to check it out

No, I've finally got organised and re-roofed my entire house and garage after a pre-xmas storm played havoc with it ;-)

SOT. That looks like a massive job. Enough to give anyone sleepless nights. Hope it all went to plan.
