Please forgive me.. I am a COMPLETE technological biff so if you ask me technical questions I will probably have issues answering them, which may make things more challenging!

I have been recording quite happily both waveform and multitrack but yesterday, I went to start a new file and it has stopped recording sound.  The record button works and starts the file but it is not recording any noise.  The setup has not changed and I have logged out and restarted.  I literally have no idea why it is not working.  It is playing back previously recorded files but not letting me record into those either.

Hoping that this is a quick fix to something that I have inadvertently pressed/turned off/have not idea about

Thanks for your time

Frustrated!

    Hi there... seems to be

This is what the audio hardware page looks like

I just don't understand what I may have accidentally done!  Like I say, it was working fine one minute and then not the next

One problem that is obvious from your image is that the input and output sample rates don't match. Presumably the Blue Snowball is fixed at 44100Hz but you should be able to change the output Speakers (Realtek) to match in the Windows Sound set up page. It could be that some other software like YouTube, for instance, has changed the sample rate when you played a video.

Can you tell us a bit more info about your set up, PC, audio interface and what you are trying to record?

I am recording narration, using a Blue Snowball microphone.  As I say, it was all fine and then suddenly it wasn't.  The mic has power and is on..
