For months now I’ve been using the noise reduction process to cut on the AC/heater going in the background of my recording. i never had any issues until recently. Now when I apply it I can hear very loud clicks throughout my recording. The only thing I can think that I’m doing differently is I’m now using a USB hub because I have too many things going into my computer.
Any ideas?

What are you using the USB hub for? What do you have connected to it? Normally this would only affect either the recordings or playback if they were being done by a USB audio interface going via a hub with lots of simultaneous devices also using the same hub. I can't see, though, how any of this would affect the noise reduction process in Audition unless you were also streaming your audio to/from a USB hard drive again attached to the same USB hub. Any USB port on a computer will only have a certain maximum bandwidth which has to be shared amongst all the devices connected to that port via a hub.

Ok this might be it then. I do have the recordings being stored on a drive connected through the same hub. I think the clicking MIGHT be there on the recordings before and after the noise reduction process, but once you do the noise reduction it makes it much louder and more noticeable.
I'll try my next recording putting only the mics through the USB hub but having the hard drive connect directly to the computer.

Hi KateW,
Did you solve this issue yet? What did you end up doing?
Thanks,
Kevin
