Crashes on "enable remix"

Every time I try to enable remix on clip my audition crashes. It gets to analyzing and just shuts down.  I'm new to audition but completely frustrated. I tried to find the error logs but can't. 

Windows 10, does it in both Audition 2017 & 2018.

Thanks, it crashes in both 2017 and 2018.  I think its a bug related to the latest windows 10 roll-out. I guess I'll have to hand mix the music in premiere. That's so much more work.

I did that but the clock is ticking on my project and it still doesn't work.

Since this is happening in Audition CC2017 as well the only people who can really help are the developers. You can get details to them by following the FAQ Audition Crashed. Now what? But unfortunately you are unlikely to get an instant answer if there is a bug within Audition causing this problem. I don't recall anyone else having problems with Remix in CC2017 but we do know that there are a few fixes to various bugs required for CC2018 which are in the pipeline.

More details.  This function worked a couple of weeks ago on another project, but hasn't worked for the last week. At first I thought that it was because I upgraded to 2018, but then I downgraded and it still didn't work. 

I'm in multitrack.  When I open the "properties tab" for the track I want to remix to another length -- it shows Remix = off and it is greyed out - I cant figure out how to turn that on, or if I need to.

To find the Logs go to the Help menu and click on 'Reveal logs'. Otherwise follow the instructions here Audition Crashed. Now what?
