Question

editing left and right channels separately

Hi all,

I have a question about editing either channel in a single audio track. I know how to separate the channels, and how to edit them, but I have noticed that the master track doesnt change after editing. Am I missing a step?

Thanks

I was with you until you mentioned a master track. Are you editing in Multitrack view?

forgive any possible confusion. What I mean is that the main track that I imported into Audition doesnt change when I edit the left or right channel. Does that make sense?

Mainly I am trying to edit audio levels on either the left or right channel. When I make the left channel louder in the split view, it doesnt change in the original track

Are you talking about using the the preview editor? It works fine for doing that here. If you click on the blue L or R on the RHS of the waveform you can edit a single channel, and if you highlight a section to reduce the volume on, the change is immediately reflected in the non-preview (lower) view.
