How to continue recording in Audition?

Explorer ,
Jan 05, 2018 Jan 05, 2018

Hello

When I'm trying to continue a recording, Audition jumps to the start of the file and rewrites the already written existing audio data.

Is there a way to continue recording at the end? The way it works in Audacity, for example?

The version I'm using is CC 2018 11.0.0.199

Make sure you do NOT have "Loop Playback" selected (next to the record button).  If it's selected it will be BLUE and if you stop recording and try to resume, it will start recording from the beginning

Make sure that the option Return Playhead to Start on Stop is turned off. You can either do this from Preferences/Playback or by right clicking on the transport Play button and unticking the option from the drop down menu.

Thank you, that's one of those obvious things once you know about it but confuses people just starting out.
