.m4a Format Not Available for Export from Match Loudness

Why don't I see .m4a as an available file format in the Export Settings within the Match Loundess utility? There is a nice selection of other formats, but .m4a is absent.

Apple don't support the format for Windows any more, apparently - there was some discussion about this a couple of years ago. If you have a Mac, you can use the Apple Audio Toolbox within Audition, and I think it's still in that, but it's not available in the Windows version.

Another alternative that was suggested I don't know about, and haven't tried - but apparently .m4a is very similar to AAC. And if you export as AAC and then change the extension to .m4a it will work, and other players will recognise it. Like I said, not tried, so no guarantees that it will work satisfactorily.
