They are all cheap monitors, and as such, their performance will be limited quite severely by your room. If I had to go for one of them, with provisos, I'd probably go for the BX8, as it has more favourable reviews. The downside to it is that it has a rear port, so you can't put it anywhere near a wall without significantly affecting its bass performance. You haven't said which KRK you are considering, but they generally perform quite well too. I'd avoid the Yamaha HS8, I'm afraid. The best that can be said about it is that it's 'adequate' (it isn't).

You might also want to consider the Fostex PM0.5n. These punch well above their weight, and don't have the rear port issue either.

But whatever you do, treating at least the early reflections in your edit suite could easily make more difference than which cheap monitors you pick...

I have had a set of KRK Rockits for years using XLRs from my audio interface. They both had power problems out of warranty. This is the age we live in- substandard Chinese made circuitry designed for a throwaway culture.
However, the sound is great and if you separate the units from the editing desk with those foam pads, you can limit the harmonic distortions. Go online and download sount test files with sweeps to seek out any sympathetic vibrations in your editing room.

If you're serious about getting really good monitors, check out the Genelec range.   When I was still working in TV they were the standard in all our editing suites (17 of the things).  However, I warn you that you're entering a different world of pricing.

However, whatever the speaker, pay attention to Steve's comments regarding room treatment.
