Re: NEW Audition remove background noise

Hi

I have a recording of someone speaking, like a podcast in a room।  At a few points my sibling is walking above me in a room upstairs which has made a few harsh crackling sounds from like crackly squeeky floor boards upstairs while my speech is being recorded। What edit effects or recomedations do you have to clean such sounds?

Thankyou in advance!

Hi @amol28184311fuco

I've moved your post to its own thread.

Without knowing more or hearing a sample, it's difficult to say.

Perhaps from what you say of the way the recording was made

(your voice, your house?)

it might be easier to re-record it?

Best regards, Euan.

Yeah, post a sample if you can - preferably a wav file rather than an MP3. If it's like most noises of this sort, they can be ameliorated somewhat by using spectral editing to draw around the specific noises and delete them without losing speech. But I'll warn you now - it will be far from perfect and if you can manage to re-record, as Euan suggests, that would be a lot better.

thankyou for your adivce

please have a look at the clip and let me know what you suggest,

unfortunately i wont be able to re record because im not with my sister now and can only work with what we have recorded now,

but hopefully we can get around this somehow,

and in terms of general mic bumps or table touches what can i do to remove or cut these down too?

i put the recorder mic on the table which was a bad idea , should have ideally used a mic stand , learning curve for me i guess! lol
