I'm having issues with AA. I'm recording my bands practices with 1 mic. I record in multitrack & after a certain amount of time recording stops (different end point each time). I disable record button a on that track and move to another track to continue recording. Enable record button except it wont record or do anything. I have to exit out of AA and get back in just to be able to record again. Kinda annoying. Any idea?
Thanks
Do you have the same input assigned on the new channel you're going to record on? Won't work unless you do...

I think you're right. I can only record in 2 tracks. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks for the reply

Thought I fixed it. But still not recording. I imported a scratch track on track 2. Enable track 3 to record and freezes. Wont record. I use to use CEP 2.0 and was easy. I'm struggling with this. Thanks for help!

If you only have two available inputs, that's not a problem - you just have to make sure that it's those inputs that are assigned to the individual tracks. When you've got them correctly in the hardware settings, the track input control shouldn't be greyed out, but look something like this:
Although yours might say something slightly different, the basic idea is the same. When you select one of those options it will show as a definite indication, and not say 'Default Stereo Input' or whatever, any more. Like this:

I notice from your Audio Channel Mapping preferences image that you have two different audio interfaces selected, one for default inputs and another for outputs. This may be affecting how Audition works since it expects both the input and output devices to be the same. In your case you should really have the Audiobox selected for both input and output if you want to record from it.
The fact that Audition stops recording and has to be rebooted to continue recording indicates that something is probably stealing the selected audio interface from Audition. This is what causes the recording/playback to stop. You have to close out of Audition and reopen it to re-establish the audio device connection. Can you also post an image of the Audio Hardware preferences page?

Thanks again for trying to help!!!

If and when that happens it usually means that some other bit of software or Windows has grabbed the audio device's drivers away from Audition. Make sure that you don't have other software running in the background that can want to make noises. Turn off all System Sounds so that Windows can't do that.
