Question

Shortcut to allow jumping between two open files.

I spend a lot of time with two Audition files open at the same time.

Two questions:

(a) Can I open each in a separate window, and then cut and paste/drag parts from one to another?

(b) Currently I have to click on the little 3-bar icon in the Editor header to show me which other file(s) I have open. I then select the file I want and it opens. To go back to the original I have to reverse the process. Is there some quick key combination (i.e., like CMD TAB) that allows me to quickly switch between two open files??

Thanks.

a) No, you can only open one Editor window at a time. Yes, you can cut and paste between any open files easily using Ctrl+C on one, and Ctrl+V it to the other - just do what it says below:

b) If you have the files you want open in the Files panel, then you can shift between them using Ctrl+Tab. That goes down a list of files that are open; Ctrl+Shift+Tab goes up the list. If you only have two files open, obviously you only need Ctrl+Tab to swap between them.

Thanks for the quick response. Ctrl-Tab is what I needed. I thought I'd tried all the key combinations . . . but I guess I missed that one. And thanks for the definitive "No, you can only open one Editor window at a time." That answers it all.
