Trying to open session file from older version of Audition

I just installed Audition cc in hopes to work on some old recording sessions from a prior version of Audition. I believe from Audition 3. When I try to open the session file I get this error:

Error: Media Foundation reported an error when opening the file. The byte stream type of the given URL is unsupported.

Would be very disappointed if I cannot bring back these sessions (all the wave files are present in the same folder and I can load them in without any problems).

I tried the import function but same result. Is it not possible to bring in older session files from Audition 3 or prior?

Correct answer ryclark

You will need to use Ses2Sesx, a third party translator for the older Audition session file format. However the basics of your old sessions will be imported OK some of the effects may not since they have been reprogrammed in the later cross platform versions of Audition.

That worked!! Cost $39 and I will probably never use it again but it is what it is. Do you know if its useful for any other functions? Definitely resurrected those old sessions though. Thanks!! - Matt
