Using Audition with ASIO device to output to MME

I'm using a Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK together with Audition and I want to record and livestream music. The problem is that the Signature is obviously running on ASIO drivers, therefore if I set my hardware preferences in Audition to that I don't have a way to output the master to a VAC Line or even the default output as they are using MME drivers.

Is there a way to combine those drivers with like a software or plugin? Again my goal is to get Audition to output my Mix to an output device like a Virtual Cable so I can continue using that for streaming etc.

I've found that before but now that you mentioned it I looked deeper into it and I kind of got it working. Only issue is now that my other software doesn't recognize my "ASIO-converted" output. I guess that's just because those then can't handle ASIO, right? Or am I missing something?

You have to bear in mind that ASIO4ALL isn't an ASIO 'driver' as such - it's a means of converting ASIO-based software so that it will run with native windows audio - MME and WDM. And that's what it does for Audition - converts its inherently ASIO-based I/O so that it runs with Windows-based drivers.

As far as I'm aware, VAC can't tap into a real ASIO stream, as the purpose of this is to cut out most of the operating system between the ASIO output of your software, and your audio device - which is how it decreases the latency. For why this is necessary, you have also to bear in mind that Windows is trying to get in the way of everything you do - calling it an 'operating' system is a bit of a joke...

So nothing else is having to handle ASIO - simply because it can't. But if you're using ASIO4ALL it doesn't have to! All you need to do is to configure VAC so that it picks up the streams you want to interconnect. Good luck with that - it can potentially be a bit of a nightmare to get that to work - but it should, unless I'm mistaken. What you wouldn't be able to do though is tap into an ASIO stream - so by using ASIO4ALL you're probably going along the right lines.
