Where to find "buffer size" in Audition?

Hi,

 

I started with Audition 13 2-3 months ago, thanks to a friend.

 

To keep the audio latency down, I used to adjust the buffer size in "Edit => Preferences => Audio Hardware".

 

Now I can't find it anymore because of the newest version.

 

There is something to adjust the Latency but it doesn't help much, even when I put it into 30 ms. I can't record myself without a big latency that really bugs me.

 

Can somebody help me, please?

You haven't told us enough to be able to help you yet. Firstly we need to know if it's on a Mac or a PC. If it's a PC then we need to know whether you're using an external sound device and what driver class you are using...

I'm not really into all this stuff, so I hope I'll give you the right answer.

 

I have a PC (MSI notebook) and I'm recording with this stuff :

My PC is in german, but this if what I found under "Informations about my PC":

Although, I thought Adobe programs look/are all the same, doesn't matter wheter you have a PC or Notebook...

 

I've recorded without latency not more than 2 weeks ago with the Audition v 13.0.13, all of a sudden, now that same version changed into the v 14.0. and the "Edit => Preferences => Audio Hardware" isn't the same anymore. I always could adjust the buffer size, now I don't even find the buffer size anymore.

please find attached the Preferences how I know them, the default version and how it looks when I changed the decvice class to "WASAPI" (ASIO isn't an option). With WASAPI, everything got worse.

 

I really simply would like to know where to adjust the buffer size, this can't be completely gone, this must be somewhere, right?

The only driver you get a buffer adjustment with is the ASIO one. With MME you get a latency value to alter instead. They call it that, but essentially it does the same thing. Since you insist that it's buffer size you want, then the software upgrade will have reset your audio preferences, as you would only have had this with an ASIO driver anyway - we've had other people reporting this, so it's almost certainly the case. If you don't have ASIO as an option now, then I suggest that you download the latest drivers from Presonus, and install them.
