Code: 61. Error in WAV/W64/RF64 file. Malformed ‘fmt’ chunk

I found a solution to this in another thread [Error Code 61 when attempting to upload a wav file to Audition ] but it requires downloading something from a private site with a log-in and password. Does adobe provide a solution to this problem?

We are trying to have someone call in to our VOIP phone system and record a brief message (quote) and then take the wav file it records and bring it into Audition or Premiere.

When I do I get this error message: "Error: This file is not supported by libsndfile. Code: 61. Error in WAV/W64/RF64 file. Malformed ‘fmt’ chunk."

I'm on a Mac system and the file previews for another guy in the office on a PC (unfortunatley he doesn't have access to the Adobe apps.)

I can't find any other mention of this problem elsewhere.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I am also getting this error while trying to open up a .wav file in Abobe Audition.

Error: This file is not supported by libsndfile.  Code: 64.  Error in WAV/W64/RF64 file. Malformed 'fmt ' chunk.

Any assistance on this would be great!

See reply in other post - this isn't quite the same thing. And one thread is sufficient!

Answered with a new link in the other thread, but no they don't, as it's not Adobe software.

Since the file is obviously faulty, if a guy on a PC can open it, my quick and nasty would be to get him to save it in whatever audio software he has then upload to something like Dropbox or Box.net for you to download. (Or if you sit nearby just sting a cable from his audio out to your input)..
