Question

Parametric Equaliser not functioning correctly

I thought the constant crashes while using the Graphic Equaliser in the last version were bad, but this one isn't much fun either.

Just installed version 13.0.1.35, and tried to use the Parametric Equaliser.

The little square nodes on the frequency display don't seem to do anything. They don't alter the sound, and they don't move the line which displays the equalisation being used.

(If you load up an existing preset, some nodes work and others don't.)

As I use the Parametric EQ many times a day for radio and television production, I'm hoping for a quick fix on this one as it's not workable at the moment.

I have this same issue, but I have found that if I turn off the points and back on again, the preview line will jump to it.  The problem I have seen is that if you move a dot and it strays from the line then you don't hear a preview of the EQ change, but when you click apply, it applies it as if the line had moved, so the preview is misleading.  So I had to do a lot of turning the points off and on again to get it to preview properly.

I was just using this feature with no problems last week with a client.  They returned this week only to find that the program was misbehaving.  I tried restarting the software, my machine and then searched the forums.  My software is set to auto update and I now see that I had this update happen 2 days ago.  Very frustrating especially when the release of this update stated stability improvements.

Sad not to see an update yet. Sometimes (especially with software) fixing one thing can mess up another.

Adobe Poke.

Ditto.

At 3:27 PM...

Tried dealing w/ chat support and no luck so far. Spent over an hour, sent them screen videos , let them see me have the problem with their screen sharing. Sent me on wild goose chases tryin to reset everything. Suggested corruption during the upgrade. 12.1.5 still works as expected. Then the rep's shift was over so I'm starting over...

In my case, when I close the Para EQ window then reopen, the changes I made to the nodes now work, but if I move them back across the default (flat) line, they stop again.

As I type, I'm waiting for new chat support to read this thread, so they can see I'm not the only one.

Takes 5+ minutes to read two posts, one of them being an "I concurr."?

Now they tell me the latest release fixes this bug, and then tells me 13.0.1 (Mac) is not the latest version, though Creative Cloud tells me it is. 10+ minutes, and waiting...

Now concede it is...checking to see if bug was reported (I already shared this topic with them). Yep, similar bug in Premier.

Now 25+ minutes, this after the previous hour + with other rep who went home...

Trying to replicate on their Mac. Not sure what they are going to do...if they can or can't...

1+ hour plus 30+ minutes...

Now 5:20 PM.."Thank you so much for your patience"

My pleasure...

Asked: Did I set HP or LP? Why does that matter? I alawys reset to default (flat; no HP or LP applied).

Another shift changer; I've asked for a supervisor and I've called customer service; will get called back in no more than "26 minutes".

Thank you very much for following this through with Adobe.

It frustrates me that Adobe seem to give a very low priority to Audition,
and they don't seem to bug test new versions to the level I think they
should.

I shudder every time there's a new version because I know there's going to
be something else that doesn't work and has to be followed up with them.

I concur! Parametric EQ is seriously misbehaving - definitely a bug and I've reported it.
