Select any image (jpg, nef, tiff) > View > Full screen preview > right arrow key for next image. On changing slowly to view the next image and viewing it for 5 sec or more, the image is displays properly. On changing quickly, or very quickly, through the next 3-5 images, then stopping to view an image, the viewed image does not display properly; its brightness flickers and someimes its size flickers. Must restart Bridge to fix this. Tried purging the cache and relocating the cache, but neither solved the problem.

Hey Bridge Team, thank you kindly for the response and temp fix. I downloaded the Beta version and the problem was fixed for about a few hours. I came back later and the problem began again. I got a message to compact the Cache, which I did. Problem returned in about half hour.
I closed Bridge, rebnooted my Macbook Pro 16 M1 Max and have only encounteded the issue once in the last 10 or so hours of working in it. Cosed Bridge, reopened and havent encountered the issue since.
I have been working in Bridge all last night and quite a bit this morning and no issue so far.
I agree with sip-picker, we all have a working relationship with you here. If your loyal customers are saying there is an issue, maybe there is an issue worth looking into. I read online that one person took there "out of warranty" mackbook pro to apple and they determined that his screen needed to be replaced, at the users expense. I had an appointment with the Genius bar, as i didn't equate this issue with Adobe Bridge, until i found this forum comunicating about his issue.
Thank you again for listening to us and continuing to improve the product!

It did not solve the issue, barely delayed it after opening by a few images.
Latest MacBook Pro 16" here, with M1 Pro.
I also always have a message saying GPU rendering was disabled.

Thanks for the link, Rahul.
I installed the Beta, but the flickering continues. I'm using a MacStudio and Monterey. The flickering is not as bad, with only one flash instead of a steady pulsation. Still annoying. Maybe when the update is out of Beta, all will be well.

Same here with the Beta version. I see also often a small picture (thumbnail? preview?) for some milliseconds during loading a picture in full screen mode, which causes one "extreme" flicker.

I also tried it again with deinstalling first the prior version and resinstalling the new Beta version. And in first instance it seems indeed that the flickering is gone.

Is there no way to install the beta version without losing our settings and presets? It takes a lot of work to do it all over again!

I had been glad too early. It flickers again.

Nope. Now it's flickering again, as prior versions.
Suggestions?

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong discussion.
I upgraded to the Beta versions. It worked for a while, but now it's flickering again, like prior versions. Will this ever be resolved?

I hope so! It's been too long with this problem still unresolved! Adobe, do you follow these comments? In support they still insist that the problem is the user!

I also upgraded to the Beta version, and at first I thought it was fixed. But, it is now back again. Seems to be worse when viewing a new set of pictures, or pictures not cached? When viewing, hit the space bar to click off , and then back on will stop the flickering but it is a pain to do this a lot.

I would not mind the problems so much if I were a paid Beta tester and there was a way to report bugs to the engineering team. I participated in the Lightroom Beta Program and could easily flag issues and make suggestions.
Also, I'm in a production enviroment and I'm not an amateur; I depend on Adobe software for my living. So, this bug affects my productivity. We're not supposed to use Beta software for serious work, but the last release version is defective in the same way. I thought I would risk the unreliability. So frustrating.

Dear Bridge Team. How is it that SO many people have had this same issue for SO long, and you can't replicate it? I don't get it, especially given it seems to be occuring independant of platform (Mac/PC) or confirguration. Adobe has really let it's users down with this one! I also find the behaviour of IPTC Metadata fields is worse since updating. So frustrating!

Same problem with my Bridge running on M1 Pro MacOS Ventura 13.1
Any idea to solve the problem, maybe an alternative tool for viewing Full-screen images with next/prev ?
Thank you in advance

53 replies with various people with various differnt configurations... No solutions... Clearly there is an issue here that Adobe needs to look into.
Im running a brand new laptop with the most up to date NVIDIA drivers (527.56) and keep having the issue. Am close to throwing my laptop out my window at the moment... Please look into this ASAP adobe as the problem is clearly your side.

I've been talking to support for more than 2 months and they just get back messages saying to check my system, as if they didn't read the various emails I sent reporting the system I have, which is in accordance with what they ask. I don't think they read what we write, unfortunately!

I wonder why Adobe needs to be convinced here that the problem is in the software and not the end user/system. It's reproducible on so many different systems, whether Mac, Windows, AMD, Intel, Nvidia, brand new PCs or 10 year old PCs. It occurs everywhere, I myself have seen it on 4 different laptops. So Adobe: please just take a computer and just use the software. Then you will see it and you can see if your update works or not. And don't use the end user for "try and error".
I am a software developer and in our company the software is tested before it is delivered to the customer. I suggest that maybe you guys introduce that at Adobe too :).

Hello,
same issues here, fullscreen and slideshow are unusuable in the most up-to-date version of Bridge. I run it on a new Macbook Pro M1 Max. I wish we could get an older version of Bridge back that actually works. This is completely embarrasing, but even worse that Adobe just does not care. Incredibly unprofessional.
