Hi there,
Adobe Bridge 2020 is still the only app that crashes for me even after the latest update to v10.0.1.
With crashing I mean it bounces a few times in dock then closes without posting a crash report window.
Thankfully Adobe 2019 still works and is currently in use along with the latest Photoshop and Lightroom versions on macOS Catalina 10.15.1
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Try resetting your preferences.

Should have mentioned this but I already did a prefs reset with same result, then I removed both 2019 and 2020 versions along with their leftovers (cache, application support, prefs, etc..) and installed 2020 with same result.

That version crashes all the time.
Unfortunately your going to use 2019 for awhile.
Adobe will on Christmas vacation until the beginging of next year.

WLan,
Sorry about the crashes you're seeing in Catalina, the engineering team has requested a bit of info to help with the investigations. Could you help provide the following?
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Pete

Apologies for the late reply Pete and thanks for helping out.
I just installed Bridge 2020 again and checked the above folders after the app crashed. Again this happens immediatly after launch so no crash report available.
1. There are no crash logs in this folder. This folder only holds one empty folder called "Retired"
2. Here is the copy/paste from Bridgelog.log
Obviously this stands out:

Any ideas Pete?

Like my original post indicated.
The update should have never been released.
To be released and then take off for 3 week holiday is even more of a issue.
The app is broken when using Catalina
The log you posted indicated the runtime functions crash due to permission issues.
Very disappointed in Adobe on this one.

Permission issues you say? Is there anything I can do? I've checked folder permissions for Adobe Bridge before and found nothing unusual. Could a missing certificate be causing this? But then why doesn't Bridge 2019 right?
Thanks mate!

Hi WLan -- Unfortunately, no update to provide at this time. I would like to thank you for providing the log detail like you have. The engineering team is currently investigating and will give an update when they have more to share.
Stay tuned.

PG

Hi Wlan and all,
The Bridge crash on Catalina should be resolved in the 10.0.2 release.
https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/fixed-issues.html#January2020releaseversion1002
Try updating to 10.0.2 and let us know if you're still running into crashes in Catalina!

Pete

Hi Pete,
The Creative Cloud app still shows v10.0.1 but I'll check for a direct link. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks in advance!
Speaking of which could you please ask the design team to add a dark theme to the creative cloud app so it fits nicely with the dark Mac theme? thanks.

I figured maybe it requires the 10.0.1 first to show the next update but after updating v10.0.2 was already installed. So it showed v10.0.1 but installed v10.0.2.
Anyway, the issue has not been resolved. The icon jumps a few times and then Bridge closes again without ever showing a window, be it app windfow or crash report window.

Hmm... Thanks for the detail WLan-- Sorry Bridge still isn't running for you.
Have you tried creating a new Administrative user on your system to see if Bridge runs in that user successfully?

Regarding the dark theme -- This is a popular feature request that the team is aware of and working on.

Hi Pete,
Nope same deal after creating a new administrator account and installing Bridge v10.0.2

Dang. Thanks Wlan.
Would you be able to provide the crash logs created under this new user like you did before?
I can then pass them onto the engineering team to further investigate.
Really sorry Bridge isn't working for you yet.
Regards,
Pete

Thanks you Wlan for the crash log details again.
The engineering team is currently investigating and are curious to setup a screenshare with you.
Would you be willing to screenshare and work with them to help resolve this on your machine?
As employee, I'm able to see your logged-in account address here in the forum, would that gmail address work for the engineering team to follow up with you?
Regards,
Pete

I'm in a fresh install of Catalina. Obviously the first thing I tried was Adobe Bridge 2020. Lo and behold it crashes again. What on earth is up with this app guys? This is the only app that is giving me issues, even in a fresh install, go figure!

This error always comes up in Console when launching Bridge:
com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.xpc.launchd.domain.pid.Adobe Bridge 2020.2092): Failed to bootstrap path: path = /Applications/Adobe Bridge 2020/Adobe Bridge 2020.app/Contents/Frameworks/wrservices.framework/Versions/A/WRServices, error = 2: No such file or directory

So to sum up the things I've tried on my previous Catalina install and now new installion. As a matter of fact I went into the trouble of performing a clean install because I was certain this issue would not exist, boy was I wrong and what a waste of time, energy and money.
Again keep in mind this is the ONLY app that crashes on launch, I have no issue whatsoever with all the other apps I use, including Adobe Bridge 2019!
Previous Catalina instalation:
- Reset Prefs and Clear Cache
- Reinstall Adobe Bridge 2020
- Reinstall Creative Cloud
- Allow Read & Write for Bridge 2020 in sharing & permissions for application and folders
Fresh Catalina installation:
- Grant permissions to Accessibility, Input Monitoring and Full Disk Access
- Open from Termina (also with Sudo)
- Move to desktop or documents folder and open from there
- Removed /Library/Frameworks/WacomMultiTouch.framework

I have got the same issue every time I try to start Bridge. It is not even starting on the screen. Every time... I wait a few minutes, but nothing. I have to shut it down by the explorer. It is boring. I can not work with it. It is since the last "updates". It is crashing all over the time :-(((

Are you on a windows OS or Max OS?
Desktop or Laptop

He mentioned Explorer so that means Windows. Laptop or Desktop doesn't matter much in this situation I reckon.
