Bridge Metadate Problems

Explorer ,
Jan 10, 2023 Jan 10, 2023

When using Bridge Metadata panels, the panels do not open in the same order as when they were closed. This requires me to re-open the panels, every time I launch Bridge  - a waste of time.

Bridge 13.0 & 13.02 do not update the keywords panel that is associated with each photo, when switching between photos. This occurs typically when keywords have been copied from one image and are to be pasted to another. It appears that the copy function in windows is interfering with this proecess. Lastly, the new interface for metadata is too large, it resticts the amount of data that is viewable unnecessarily. Can you just give us back the previous keyword/metadat panel, this upgrade was a step backwards...

Hi, @Planetwide, have you created a Workspace when you're using the Bridge Metadata Panels?

@Planetwide other people have reported the issue with metadata panels not opening in the same orderas they were closed. Adobe seem to be aware of it, so hopefully it will be addressed in a future update.

I am not having a problem with keywords updating as you describe. Can you give more details? It happens when you select an image, copy keywords in the metadata panel, then select a different image and paste the keywords there? How about if you type in a keyword, same problem? Does the problem happen in other fields, like description?

Bridge is open. I select one image and the metadata populates. I select the keywords in that images metadata (to copy to another image) and copy. When I select another image the metadata from the first image remains in place. Bridge does not repopulate the metadata fields with the selected images data.

I can't recreate the problem. The first thing to try is purging the cache (Tools > Purge Cache).

My apologies @Planetwide I can recreate the problem and purging the cache will not fix it. I found that if I select the text in a metadata field, the text is carried over when I select a different image. It's not every field, but most of them. When I scroll the metadata panel up and down, the fields refresh and display the correct value for the selected image.

This seems like a bug, for sure.

@Swati Agarwal thank you for the fast response. Also note that the Tab key is not working to select fields consistently in the metadata panel. Sometimes pressng Tab moves the selection down, sometimes up and sometimes skips fields. When the seelction does move down, it does not scroll to the last field in the panel, instead the selection jumps to the cancel (X) or save (check) buttons.

Awesome to hear! Please shrink the Metadata boxes back to the previous versions size. This allows for much more data to be shown. Thank you
