Even with the latest update: 13.02.626, the Grid Lock option from the View menu, still does not work. When Grid Lock works properly it contrains viewable preview thumnails to their borders when scrolling; but that's still not happening.

When Grid Lock works, it contrains the thumbnail viewable areas to their borders when scrolling, like this:
The Grid Lock feature is not working though, so this is what happens when scrolling:

Hi, @mudreaux, there are two competing activities taking place here and I'm not sure there is a solution to your expectation.
First off, let's say (for the purpose of a discussion) each cell, or grid is currently 1 inch tall. Let's also say that the window height is 2-1/2" tall. In this situation, can you explain how you'd divide 2-1/2" into two equal 2" spaces?
The other issue is how much travel there is from any given mouse's indents. What I mean by "indents" is as you roll a mouse, you'll typically feel "thumps" as the mouse rolls. The distance that each thump travels is not going to be the same for each mouse or each computer and is not likely to be known or recognized by each application.
Thus, I think there is an issue with your expectation as to what the purpose and function of the Grid Lock view can provide.
What it's intended purpose is, is to equalize the space for all photos, regardless if they are in portrait or landscape view, regardless if they are cropped differently than the rest to occupy the same width and height as the other images in the set. This also means that an image may appear smaller than other images to accommodate that space than others. In fact, this is a bug in the current release because things like this can happen — and should not.
But your expectation here as to what the purpose of the Grid Lock view might not be what the actual function of this view is for.

Hi Gary,
Thank you for your reply, but I will say that with the previous versions of Bridge, the Grid Lock view worked as per my expectation. With the newest 2023 version of Brideg, the Grid Lock view stopped working as I've come to expect. If you have any of the previous versions of Bridge, you can test it too.

@mudreaux do you get the expected behavior when you scroll down using the down arrow key (select a thumbnail then press the down arrow until the grid of thumbnails moves up)? That's what I see - the grid snaps into place so that full thumbnails are always visible. This does not happen if you use the scroll bar or the mouse wheel.

@gregreser Yes, if I use the up or down arrow, the grid snaps into place with the 2023 version, but not when I scroll, unlike the previous versions of Bridge that did snap to grid when I scrolled.

I see that too (checked Br 2022 and 2019). I noticed when using a scroll wheel or trackpad, the grid snaps but dragging the panel scroll bar it does not (it's a smooth scroll).
I agree that the grid view should snap when you scroll.

@gregreser many thanks for confirming that with me.

Hello @Mohit Goyal
The Grid Lock feature works now if it stays engaged. If you select Thumbnail View then switch back to Grid Lock, the previews will not necessarily lock back in to their borders. Also, the scrolling speed is rather slow.
Thanks.
