Hi Todd,
Two ways: Go to the Tools (menu) -> Cache -> Purge cache (for the current folder open in Bridge)
or
Go to the Tools (menu) -> Cache -> Manage cache...
and from there you either select the one folder as above, or just do all of the folders. Personally I like this one becuase if there are issues with one folder, than others might be having issues as well.
Let us know if this works

It is the far right pane that used to show content thumbnails... not any more. And I don't knwo what I did to cause them to no longer appear.

This is how a folder full of other folders looks. There has always just been a folder icon.

Nope. When I used to click on a folder the contents of that folder would appear in thumbnails to the right.

Double-click on the folder in the contents panel.

Make sure it's the Contents Panel you double-click on too. Doing it in the Preview Panel will get you nowhere.

I think you are missing the point. When you select a folder in the contents window, the contents of that folder should show up in thumbnails in the preview window.

Todd,
I'm sorry but you are not correct in this. Think of the Preview as a chance to see preview of the item selected in the Content window. The Content Panel shows the contents of the selected folder. Personally I think that Adobe is part of the blame here in how they provide the default layout. The Default workspace has a small Preview Panel. What good is that? When I want to see a preview of an image, I want to see a large preview so I can properly see the quality of the image.
FWIW, here's my standard layout:
I have mon Contents taking over the entire right Column while the Preview takes over the entire Center Column. On the left I have everything that I might want to look at or access split into two rows. Things are scruntched up a but to make this smaller to better fit in this forum thread, but I hope you can sufficiently see how I like to have things layed out.
If you want to see the Contents of a folder, double-click on that folder in the Contents Panel to open it (just as you would in the Finder or Explorer). If you want to see a better view of an image, simply give it one click (to select it) and it will show up in the Preview Panel. If you single click on a folder in the Content Panel you will see a view of the folder in the Preview becuase that's what's selected. The Contents Panel acts just like a folder view inside the Finder or Explorer and the Preview is like pressing the Space bar in the Finder or Explorer.
I hope this helps.

Beg to differ here, but it was working a few days ago. I have always been able to click on a selected folder that sits in the content pane and the contents of that folder appear as thumbnails in the preview window. This has been working for me like so for some time.

Hi Todd,
Is it POSSIBLE that the position of the Content and Preview Panels have moved and you just did a hand-memory to click on the item where it WAS but now is not. Then, when the results were different you then looked at the name of the Panels and saw that it was different from what you did have?
Look, here's a Blog I wrote for Adobe back in 2016 on how to use Bridge (part 1 of 3) and even back then it's how I explain here.
With the humblist of respect, what you are describing is not how it works or has ever worked. The actions are correct but the Panels you state are the revers of what it actually is.

Yea and I have been waiting for pigs to fly ..............
There is none, because there never was one.
I should know.
I was on the original advisory committee that helped develop Bridge many, many years ago.
You may go down in history as the only person I know of, that has witnessed something that nobody else has seen or experienced since the development of Bridge. Congratulations.
I hope to see pigs fly one day before I pass. There is always hope.

My bad everyone... apologies!! I seemed to have mistaken clicking on the folder in Folders pane where the the contents of said folder appear in Content pane. Again... thanks for the feedback and I am taken my stubborn ass out back for a whippin!!!

Thank you for your response Todd. Some folks would have just disappeared without trace. It's a credit you didn't.
