Hi there- My Bridge (CC 2023) appearance suddenly changed (I'm sure I pushed something) and I wanted it back to the original display. I tried several suggestions and eventually just reset to default settings by holding the option key will opening Bridge and now all of my photos are gone. Any idea where they are and how I can recover them? HELP!!!
Thank you!
Hi Gary- I called Adobe support and we installed the previous version of Bridge (12) and everythin was there! Attempted to install 13 to see if the problem was fixed but 13 still wasn't showing any files. He recommended I run the old version until the next update in a month or so.
Thank you so much for your help!

To be more precise.... My photos are all still on my computer, I can see them all in Finder (Macbook Pro) in the same folders that are listed in Bridge - but there are no thumbnails/photos showing in the Bridge App. I restored the Bridge App via Timeline backup from last night - still no thumbnails/photos in Bridge. How do I get them to show up?
Thank you!

Him, @kmb60 Glad you realized that you haven't lost your images.
I'm not fully sure what holding the option key can do, but the proper way to set your preferences is to:
Quit Bridge (if running). Just before clicking on Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift. Then open Bridge BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, choose “Reset Preferences," "Entire Thumbnail Cache,” and/or "Reset Standard Workspaces.” In your case, choose "Reset Preferences."
One other thing you should also do is to rebuild the cache for that folder. You do that by going into the Tools (menu) -> Cache -> purge cache for (x) folder.
Good luck

Yep. I tried all that and photos are still not showing in Bridge.
Thank you for trying.

Where are the photos located?

The photos are all in the files on my computer under "pictures". The actual photos (or PSD files) are there and I can see them in finder. I cannot move them into Bridge manually. I also tried uninstalling Bridge and reinstalling - all the folders are there but no photos.

Hi, @kmb60 NORMALLY, when images are in the Pictures folder, they should be visible regardless of the situation. But, on the possibility that something strange is going on, please make sure that you've given permission to your computer to accept Bridge having access. I do not know which OS you have on your Mac, so I'm giving you two ways to do this, one for pre-ventura, and one for Ventura (OS 13).
This is not the fault of Adobe or anyone; this is Apple making sure that applications that have not been given permission to access areas of your computer cannot access those areas of your computer.
Go to your System Preferences and select Security and Privacy (found in the top section). Now click on the Privacy setting (last tab). Now click on the lock on the bottom left and provide your Administrator code. Now select the Full Disk Access option and click on the "+" symbol. This will bring up the standard Mac Open window and let you add any application you want or need to have full access. Look for Bridge, and select it; it will now appear in that window, and make sure it's checked. Next, go to the Files and Folders option and do the same thing as above (although there's nothing to check, just add. Close everything down and see if that makes it all work.
Please let me know
[Note: these images are from an older OS, the process is the same.]
Close everything up, and you should be good to go.
The Ventura Way
This sounds like you've not given Bridge permission for Apple's protection. Simply, this is an Apple protection issue, not Adobe's issue.
Go into the System Preferences and select the Privacy & Security tab on the left. Note that there are two options on the right you'll need to deal with: "Files and Folders," and "Full Disk Access."
First, going into Files and Folders, note that in various years of different releases of Adobe Bridge, different needs are needed. I do not know why this is, but it's always better to check and make sure that just because you did it for one release, you may or may not need it for a subsequent release.
Lastly, go into the Full Disk Access option. If you do not see your application in the list, click on the "+" symbol at the very bottom of the window. This will bring up a standard Finder window. Navigate to your Applications Folder, find Adobe Bridge, and add it to the list (You will need to add your Administrator's password to do this.). Then you can "switch" it to the "ON" position.

Hi there- thank you for all the time you are putting in to help me. Yes, I am running Ventura and I checked the Privacy Security - full access and files & folders early on to make sure it was switched on. Bridge is granted access in both. I am not running a hard copy of bridge, I have a subscription to Creative Cloud. I went to CC and uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge, it didn't correct the problem. I can access all files/photos through Finder and right click "open with" Photoshop CC 2023 - so I'm not dead in the water, just drastically slowed down. I'm not sure why the connection between Pictures and Bridge has been altered. As I said, all the folders are there - just not the thumbnails and photos/psd's. I've gone through every option online, reset the preferences & cache, checked the permissions on the mac, restored bridge from a timeline backup, reinstalled it.... I'll have to try and get in touch with Adobe tomorrow because I don't know what else to try.
Thank you!
