Installing .XMP files in Camera Raw

I've been attempting to install 3rd party .xmp plugins in camera raw. After downloading the file from the 3rd party, I was able to open all plugins without issue. When following a tutorial and attempting to install in camera raw, the .xmp files were gray'd out and I was not able to install. 

Has anyone had this issue and how did you resolve it?
