No one can say (except for some Adobe employees, who are not allowed to say). You should check the list here each time Adobe updates the Lighroom Classic software.

Hallo zusammen,

That's really piss me off... Been weeks now.

Adobe is supposed to work for pros? Do everything to let them work then, you are currently delaying my work.

Is it a pro position to you??? That is not annoying, it is unacceptable for pros, you guys have to review your copy, your workflow and management, once again unacceptable, not pro-active, not serious, not pro.

What saves you is your dominance on the market... Otherwise your careless position toward your clients would harm you...

Enough of saying it's always like that.

Enough of saying you can't do anything about it.

Is it with that kind of mindset Adobe became an industry leader? By saying "Oh we can't... deal with it... bye"

If you guys know there is a pain, solve it, that's how you please clients and win the market.

I can't believe your statuquo...

By @Bert - MYS

Please show us where Adobe or anyone else stated: "Oh we can't... deal with it... bye".

Maybe you should be a tiny bit more patient.... Not only can they deal with it, they will.

Well you say, it's always like that when a new camera is out...

If it is always like that, it's mean to me that its not the first time clients are complaining about the situation right? So the situation is known. So if it's known and the situation keep coming up, to me it means "We can't".

And if you tell me to be patient (when others already update their software), to me it means "Deal with it".

Finally the "Bye" is the lack of communication about the subject.

I don't know if you guys noticed but it's 10 pages of complains here on the same subject.

If it is the same each time, I do think Adobe should take care of it once for good and start being proactive on the issue.

"May be I should be a tiny more patient"? Is it the answer? I am making money with my pictures, and that's answer Adobe answer "Wait"?

Plus BTW what do you mean by "tiny" it been weeks now...

So yes sorry if it doesn't please you, but right now what I hear from Adobe is "Oh we can't... Deal with it... Bye"

For proprietary raws, it's always like this. Until it isn't.

Meanwhile: Please show us where Adobe or anyone else stated: "Oh we can't... deal with it... bye".

Well to me it just show that Adobe does not want to solve the issue.

An issue is not necessary technical... That's why Adobe management should work harder to solve it, and don't tell me it's because of Sony, that's irrelevant...

I know Adobe will make an update, of course they can, of course they will. But that's not the point...

The point is, they should be pro-active to not face theses issues anymore... They can? They will?

Apparently they did not find a solution yet... Will they?

The problem here is not new and not technical, but management with camera manufacturer, so it's even easier to take care of.

The solution is easy but those that can solve the problem will not: STOP making proprietary raws!

No issues with camera JPEGs. Not proprietary.

Simple.

Very short vision to solving the issue...

My answer is work hand in hand with manufacturers, that's what Adobe should do.

And don't tell me it's not possible... once again that's irrelevant...

Be proactive, if a new model is announced, plan your update accordingly.

Adobe should be seemlessly updated with cameras, it's simply common sense.

Not even trying (especially when it's recurrent) means, they don't care... and so don't care of the inconvenience for their clients...

Work hand and hand until the manufacturer refuses.

Examine the history. Of DNG as one example. Adobe tried. A few manufacturers of cameras did, most did not.

Common sense isn't a flower that grows in everyone's garden.

Then be proactive an plan updates accordingly... If the door is lock try the windows.

Once again what's make a great company is finding solutions and please clients.

Right now Adobe fails...

Those Who Forget Their History Are Condemned to Repeat It

Examine the 2nd post here dated Aug 16, 2021, long before this one Sony camera model was even know to you. It contains the correct answer that so many have ignored:

dj_paige

"This camera was just released in the last few weeks. No Adobe software will read the RAW from this camera at this time. Most likely (but no guarantees either), the next release of Lightroom Classic will contain support for reading the RAWs of this camera. You probably need to use the SONY software provided with the camera."

Same day, JimHess:"The only people who know when updates will be released are Adobe employees, and they are not allowed to divulge such plans".

Fact is, yes fact: This question even predates August 2021 as does the answer, in other such posts. Fact is, this has been an issue for decades.

Anything posted here such as "When will support for camera XXX be available" will result in the same answer and after, all we have is pontification and arguing; pointless but if it makes you feel good, well you're going to get the same answer as above. Those Who Forget Their History Are Condemned to Repeat It. Wash, rinse, repeat.

You are not getting support for this camera today.
A new group will return the next time a new camera is released and it starts all over again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Yes it is exactly what I say...

The issue is well known and still it is always the same...

Decades... And still no proper answer from adobe to put something in place. What ever the solution is they should be able to find one by then.

Others did already update their software why Adobe did not? Because they do updates only every 8 weeks? Is that solving the problem to you? being so rigid on their time line? No they should do a fast track realease only to let their clients being able to use the gear they are buying. And that as fast as possible. Why? well to please them because they pay monthly for that.

If it's a recurring problem put a process in place, sorry to tell you that again but having this issue for decades and still not have manage to do better is a real lack of answer from a company which is a world leader...

Having a few days gape is one thing, weeks is unacceptable, especially when you actually don't even have a date. We are working with theses pro-software.

Drop your undeffective support for them and face the truth, they are bad on this issue and they been for decades as you say yourself...

It's by accepting your weakness that you become better, Adobe should know that.

I never said that!

What you said was said is equally a figment of your imagination:

"Oh we can't... deal with it... bye

Fact:they (Adobe) can and will deal with it. I should feel guilty hearing about your sadness and displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of hopes or expectations but I’m struggling to do so. adiós.

pfff I am not asking you to feel guilty or what ever, you answered my post I did not ask for you.

I am complaining to Adobe for them to address that issue, who are you? are you working for Adobe, are you represent them?

If you are just to defend them by agreeing they still didn't find a solution after decades of complains... You do a very bad job...

Au revoir.

Not sure what you mean by "unlike some here"...

Anyway you help people and I do respect that.

How ever it does change the fact that Adobe should work better to please their monthly paying clients who equipe themselves with new gear. And as a top company should update their softwares accordingly seamlessly.

I won't repeat myself on the issue, it's a fact they should do better no matter what.

This is exactly what I was requesting earlier. It is just being lazy to react like in 80s. Proactivity, proactivity > customer satisfied customers. I'm 50/50 to move to Capture One and I've been using Adobe since 1996.

They are using a Beta version of Lightroom. Here's proof:

Actually really annoys me that a video can come out on November 17th and a YouTuber has been given software to edit his raws. Beta version or not, it's not like Adobe were fully waiting for release to start on the raw files, they're just not in a rush.

As Bert said, he mentions that at the time of recording the video he was unable to edit and RAW files at 13.10 in the video. Which means he would have been editing JPEG images.
