For a complete overview of camera support in Photoshop and Lightroom, visit the following article:

Why doesn't my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera?

  1. Make sure your version of Photoshop or Lightroom is updated for the latest camera support.
  2. If you own an older version of Photoshop or Lightroom, Adobe provides backward compatibility for the latest cameras through the FREE Adobe DNG Converter.

Note: ETAs for specific cameras are not available

No one can say (except for some Adobe employees, who are not allowed to say). You should check the list here each time Adobe updates the Lighroom Classic software.

He could have filmed it months ago, yet upon the time of uploading, it would appear he had a beta version of Lightroom as stated.

Please see for yourself which version of Camera Raw supports a camera and which version of Photoshop is compatible with that ACR version:

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html

If you prefer processing RAW images with ACR instead of the camera maker’s proprietary software you might want to petition them to allow shooting DNG so that Adobe does not have to play catch-up with each new camera model’s RAW format.

Hi. If your camera is not supported by Lightroom, you can use this utility to convert your images to DNG: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/using/adobe-dng-converter.html

The Sony A7 IV is not yet supported in the Camera Raw, the DNG converter or Lightroom.

You'll have to use the converter provided by Sony and create TIFF versions for use in Photoshop and Lightroom while we all wait for a Raw update from Adobe.

All Lightrooms were updated to add support for several new cameras, including the A7 IV.

Perhaps the update is being progressively deployed to the regions.

It “went” as it has for decades. And will continue to. Don't be surprised if Sony doesn't reply here. Adobe already has.

Hoor graag.

Google translation: "I just got a new Sony RX 100 vii. Updated the latest Camera Raw (14.1). But neither Photoshop nor Lightroom recognize the file. Sony works with .arw. It seems as if this camera is not in the latest update of Camera Raw."

Support for the RX100 VII was added in LR 8.4.1. In LR, do the menu command Help > System Info, and copy/paste the first line here, so we can see precisely which version of LR you're running.

I work with LR 6. I think that is the problem. Do I understand well I have to convert the pics to DNG? Is it correct that the newest Camera Raw does not work in LR 6?
