For a complete overview of camera support in Photoshop and Lightroom, visit the following article:

Why doesn't my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera?

  1. Make sure your version of Photoshop or Lightroom is updated for the latest camera support.
  2. If you own an older version of Photoshop or Lightroom, Adobe provides backward compatibility for the latest cameras through the FREE Adobe DNG Converter.

Note: ETAs for specific cameras are not available

Hallo, aktuell habe ich ein Problem mit der ARW. Datei (RAW).

  • Kameramodell: Sony FX3A
  • Was fehlt: Unterstützung für RAW-Dateien in Lightroom/Camera Raw
  • Warum es wichtig ist: Aktuell kann man keine Bilder von der Kamera in Lightroom bearbeiten und somit die Aufträge nicht abschließen.

Daher die Frage: "Wann wird die -Sony FX3A- im System mit aufgenommen.

Danke

Grüße

@Joey1983: "Sony FX3A and Sony FX2 RAW files can't open on Camera raw 17.4"

Those cameras aren't supported yet by LR:

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

The FX2 was announced just a couple of weeks ago:

https://www.dpreview.com/news/0918627425/sony-fx-2-cinema-hybrid-camera-announcement

and the press release says it won't start shipping until August. Support for a new camera from a leading manufacturer typically comes in the LR release following the release of the camera or, less frequently, the second following release. A new version of LR comes out about every 8 weeks, so we might expect to see LR 14.5 about two months from now. (I have no inside information on this, and Adobe never announces such things ahead of time.)

LR and Camera Raw do support the FX3 (released four years ago). However, Sony has been very quietly releasing new "A" versions of many of its cameras, in order to comply with an EU diktat requiring USB-C charging ports.  These cameras apparently have new firmware that simply disables the use of their micro-USB ports for charging, in order to comply with the diktat.  But since the EXIF metadata shows a different model name, LR/CR don't recognize them.

So far, Adobe has added support for some but not all of these "A" models (ZV-1A, RX100M7A, 6100A, 6400A).

Adobe Camera Raw Support Request

Subject: Request to Add Support for Sony DSC-RX100M7A RAW (.ARW) Files

Dear Adobe Camera Raw Team,

I am writing to report a compatibility issue with RAW files from the Sony DSC-RX100M7A (the latest version of the RX100 VII series). The Camera Raw plugin currently does not recognize `.ARW` files from this model.

According to the EXIF data, the model name in the file metadata is:

Model Name: DSC-RX100M7A

File Type: ARW 2.3 (compressed) format

These files are currently unsupported in both Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom Classic, though RAW files from the RX100M7 (without the “A”) work correctly.

Additionally, macOS 15.4 also fails to preview or display these RAW files, likely for the same reason.

As the RX100M7A is the current model in Sony’s RX100 series, support for this camera would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for considering this request and adding support for this camera model in a future Camera Raw update.

Best regards,

Hello, I’m using the Sony RX100M7A camera (a variant of the RX100 VII, released in 2023), and I'm unable to open its RAW (.ARW) files in Adobe Lightroom (Cloud version 8.2) or Adobe Camera Raw, despite having the latest available versions of all Adobe software through Creative Cloud (Windows 64-bit). I also tried converting the files using Adobe DNG Converter, but I receive the message that the file format is not supported. This issue makes it impossible for me to edit my RAW files using Adobe tools. The RX100M7A is an officially released product, and I was surprised to find it not supported even after almost two years on the market. I’m attaching (or willing to provide) a sample RAW file from this camera to assist in the review process. Could you please let me know if support for this model is planned, and if so, when it might become available? My e-mail is Thank you for your attention and support.

"I was surprised to find it not supported even after almost two years on the market"

The RX100M7A has only been shipping the last 6 weeks or so, and there was no official announcement about it from Sony. It appears that Sony released several "A" variants at the same time, disabling the in-camera battery charging via the micro USB port to avoid running afoul of new EU regulations requiring USB-C charging:

Hi guys, when do you plan on adding support for RAW files from Nikon Z5 II camera? Thank you, Vaclav

A new version of LR comes out about every 8 weeks, so we might expect to see LR 14.3 this week or next. However, the Z 5II was just released seven days ago, which may not be enough time for Adobe to get support into 14.3, in which case it would appear in 14.4. (I have no inside information on this, and Adobe never announces such things ahead of time.)

Meanwhile, you can use the free NX Studio software to convert raws to TIFFs and import those into LR without significant lossof quality.

The Sony RX100 M7A camera's raw images are incompatible with Lightroom Classic and the Lightroom app.
I upgraded my Sony RX100 VI to the VII for a work trip, and I can't export the photos to Lightroom for editing.
Will it be available soon?

thanks

I recently purchased a Sony RX100M7A (the A is the important thing) camera which was released 2023

unfortunately none of the adobe products work when I try to import my photos in raw format. The Sony Model RX100M7 is supported - and works well

But the RX100M7A format is not recognized. Is there a way to fix this? would it be possible to include this camera model in the near future?

thank you for your quick response

Simone

I was able to import RX100M7A fotos in adobe products by modifying the exif information with exiftool:

exiftool -sonymodelid=DSC-RX100M7 -overwrite_original *.arw
exiftool -Exif:Model=DSC-RX100M7 -overwrite_original *.arw

those two commands did the trick for me

best regards
