Adobe Captivate 7 crashes when importing project captions

Hi,

I am localizing text using Adobe Captivate 7 and right now I am trying to import a Simplified Chinese document to replace my English project. However, captivate crashes while in the middle of the importing and I don't know why. I tried several times using different mac books with the same captivate version but still it crashes. I also saved the SChinese doc with new file name but same thing happens.

I did plenty of translations before but this is the first time the software crashes. What do you think is the problem? How can I resolve this?

Really appreciate it if you can help me. Thanks!

-Dinky

I am not sure at all to be able to help but can you tell which export/import functionality you did use: with Word or with XML? If it is Word, which version of Office are you using? Captivate 7 is pretty old, it may be not compatible with a more recent version of Word.

I am using 97-2004 compatible document file. This is also the version of the other files that I used in localization and they all worked well. So I only have this Simplified Chinese file that stops importing when it reach 30%. I wonder if it has something to do with the Id Number in the localization. This file came from our vendor so I don't really understand the language. I cannot tell if there are changes in the file done by the vendor.

I can only tell you it is very important to keep the original names for both the CPTX-file and the Word-document (I suspect you are using Word?). You have to import the translated Word in the cptx-file from which you exported it. Is that the case?
