Audio not importing into Captivate with PowerPoint

New Here ,

I'm a fairly new Captivate user and I'm trying to create a new project with PowerPoint.  The PowerPoint I'm importing has narration on each slide.  The audio narration is not importing with the PowerPoint into Captivate.  I have tried Editing w/ PowerPoint and also saving the audio files to Media Player and importing separately to each slide and these 2 ways did not work and my manual does not cover this issue.  Please send me other recommendation.

Thank you,

Cindy

In all honesty, your quickest solution is to get the audio files OUT of PowerPoint and then insert them into the Captivate slides in the CPTX file directly.

If you do not have the original audio files that were used in the PowerPoint, you can try publishing the PPT out to HTML and then dig around in the output to find the audio files.  Some have also suggested changing the ending of a PPTX file to .ZIP and then looking in the folder structure to find the audio files that way.

Either way, expecting everythiing in a PPT to automatically travel over to the CPTX project is not usually going to be blessed with success.

Thank you for your response.  We had previously tried zip file and import but tried it again and this time took the WMV audio files to ZamZar and converted them to MP3 and TaDa!...we can now import the MP3 audio files into the Captivate Library and add them to the corresponding slides.  It's a big work around but it works.
