Audio not pausing at end of slide

Hi everyone. Using Captivate 8, version 8.0.3.290, on Windows 10.

Have an issue with audio in a project where the user progresses to the next slide by using a next button. However, we recorded audio outside Captivate, saved it as MP3, and dragged and dropped the individual corresponding MP3 files into the appropriate slides in the film strip.

We've previewed the project and the audio doesn't pause at the end of the slide and wait for the Next button to be clicked. Instead, it continues on to the audio for the next slide. How do we stop it from doing this?

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.

Be sure to leave a small gap after and before each audio clip on the slide. That way Captivate will not consider this to be a large audio file distributed over several slides.

Another tip: do not compress to mp4 if you import audio clips to Captivate but keep the original wav files. Captivate will compress to mp3 when publishing. Look in the Library, you'll probably find that Cp has created a wav file from your mp3.
