Error with msvcr100 not allowing Captivate 2019 to open

I downloaded and installed the Trial for Captivate 2019 in my Win 11 machine. I did this after checking with a tech support rep who assured me it would work in the W11 environment.  After install I tried opening it and it would not go past the green window with the logo before crashing.  Event viewer pointed at msvcr110.dll as the issue so we tried the following:

  • Uninstall and Re-install Captivate
  • Remove any Visual C++ Distributable older than 2012
  • Remove and reinstall Visual C++ Distributable 2012
  • sfc /scannow
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /CheckHealth
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  • chkdsk /f /r /x
  • Contacted MS and they said the issue is with Adobe and suggested that if nothing works, I can do a system reset. This is my very last option as I do not want to recreate everything in my machine

Here is the actual error:

Can anyone here please help before I ditch Captivate for another authoring tool?

Captivate is not compatible with Win11 AFAIK. It was released long time before the release of Win11.

I was under that impression as well, but this Adobe representative in Tech Support guaranteed me that Captivate 2019 does work on Win 11  *shrug*
