Feature Request: Captions in multistate objects in New Captivate
I am trying to create a scenario between two characters. I have successfully created multi-state objects to swap out the characters images, names, and titles with interactions and bookmarks on the timeline. I have recorded the voiceovers and paused the timeline to allow the conversation to complete and then resume the slide timeline. All that works perfectly. EXCEPT that there appears to be no way to caption that conversational interlude. I know this was a limitation back in Captivate Classic. We dealt with that by having EVERY word spoken also written on the screen.
With the limited layout options of Captivate 12 in service of responsive design, we are trying desperately to move away from all of that text (in addition to it just being bad design). I've tried importing the audio into Premiere pro, making a caption video out of it and then inserting the caption video below the conversation, but I CANNOT choose Video from the interaction panel; only Audio. I've tried insertng the caption video in a blank slide and having it shown as an overlay during the pause, but then I cannot seem to resume the slide afterward, also the video only plays AFTER the conversation, not with it simultaneously.
If there is some way to do this that I have not already tried, or if anyone has done this successully, please share your wisdom. If not, please Adobe, add this to the list of features in a future (hopefully soon-to-be-released) update. Captions are not a "nice-to-have feature". They are essential. Please do better. WHY can we not create captions automatically in Captivate like we can in Premiere Pro? It should be that easy.
