Question

How do I create my own quiz slide?

I can see that I can use a click box, etc to create the question - but then how do I get Quizzes to recognize my slide as a quiz slide?

Hello,

It is possible that I already gave you the link to my blog post where a couple of articles are mentioned that do show real examples of customized question slides. If I did, sorry for the repetition:

Customize your quiz

Not only the default Quiz slides can have a score that will be added to the Quiz total, but all interactive objects can have a score attached: click boxes, buttons, Text enty boxes. If you ever captured a software app in Assessment mode, you could have seen an example. All scores are visible in the Advanced interaction view. Even if you do not have any question slides, an Assessment simulation will give you a Total score, based on all the scores attached to click boxes, buttons...

Thank you Lilybrir for your reply.  Blog is very helpful.

And still I have questions...

My questions:

1) What variable do I change to add my results of my own click box slide if I just want to add one slide (and response) to set of standard quiz questions?

2) I have a problem with click box.  I posted in captivate (since it's not necessarily a quiz slide) - but I'll ask here again - in case you can help me with this also.

I have a text box and by using advanced action on slide PI, I hide it, then on a click box I want it to show.  I have another image on the slide that I want to be visible thw whole time.  But when the hidden text box reveals itself, the image dims.  Why is that?  What do I have set incorrectly?

3) and back to quiz question:  Can I create my own hotspot question slide?  I thought that I could use a click box - set attempts to 1 - and if user clicks anywhere on the screen except on the click box, incorrrect text would appear. That's not what happens - it looks like attempts are set to infinite, although they are not.

Any pointers much appreciate!

Hello,

About your first question, just add the proper score to the click box (region Reporting in the Properties panel), and be sure it will be added to the Total. It will then be added to the system variable cpQuizInfoPointsScored. You cannot change this variable yourself, only way is to attach a score as I explained. You can check all scores (for Question slides and scoreable objects) in the Advanced Interactions View.

I did answer yesterday to your second question in the other thread, but apparently the answer did not make it. I did suggest checking the transitions and the timing on the Timeline, as Captiv8r suggested later on; you marked this question as answered, so fine!

For your third question, I did create hotspot questions already (check the articles), but if you are creating question slides, and want to show Text Captions on Success/Failure you will have to create those Text Captions and adapt the actions to advanced actions, where you will show/hide the proper TC.
