How to combine the "Submit button" for D&D with the Skip Button & Next Slide

Hi,

My objective is to manage a D&D interaction as standard quizz questions. We are using the "Send All Questions" property on the project so the user can go back and forth and reply to the questions in any order. The problem is that for D&D, the next & previous button are not set by default (I created some) but the worst is that the submit button is separate. I'd like to submit when a user clicks next or previous like in a normal quizz question.

Is there any way we can access the submit button by advanced action for instance? Possible?

Thanks for your help

Gary

Did you read that blog post? Sorry for the repetition. I explained the difference in that post between a scored and a non-scored D&D.

If you want a scored D&D, you have to turn on reporting for the D&D, and indicate the wanted score. Choose the number of attempts (like for a normal quiz slide), and indicate the score.

I think you mean the 'Submit All' feature of a Quiz. It will not work for D&D, only for the normal type of quiz slides.

Next button never submits an answer for any quiz slide, your question is confusing. The quiz slides are only submitted when the user clicks once on the Submit All button, not when clicking on any other button.

Both the Submit button for D&D, for quiz slides and the Submit All button are embedded objects, with inbuilt functionality.

If I understood better what you asked, maybe could offer some suggestions, but if you really want Submit all, you'll have to live with its limitations. I don't trust it, also because what will happen with limited bandwidth or when a connection is broken, user will lose every already filled in question.

Skip button will skip a question, is different from the Next button. Since you talk about both, I suspect you are on version 8 or earlier?

Thanks for quick response.

Actually we build an offline quiz so I do not expect having connections issues (internal server with a local web server -> xml output). I can live without having the "submit all" on the D&D slide.

The question is rather how I can manage on the D&D slide some kind of "save" button using a custom next or previous button. In other words, is there a way I can embed the submit action into a custom button?

Thanks,

Did you read the blog post about D&D? Since it has to be scored, you do need to use the built in functionality, and that is using the Submit button or the Auto Submit for correct answers. At this moment all quiz slides can only have the three old type of buttons: system, transparent or image. You can switch to any of them, the image button can be fully custom, but you need to create three images ending on _up, _over and _down (look in the Gallery at the provided image buttons). You cannot embed the action in a button, you have to change the button!

Ok.

I'd like to change the button. No problem.

Can I call the submit action for D&D then?

Thanks,
