How to make a simple pop up box with text when a user clicks a "fun fact" icon button....

Hello everyone, inside my Captivate 2019 project I have about 4-5 slides where a "fun fact" icon appears where the user can click on it and a text box pops up with a blurb about that fact. I need the user to stay on the same slide, and for them to be able to "x" out of the window as well. This seems so easy in concept yet I can't find any videos on it specifically.

      Does the popup really be closed with a X button? Because this would be the easiest way:

      • Click the option 'Use as button' for the icon.
      • Open the Object State panel and use the right-click menu to delete the Rollover and Down states.
      • Add a custom state. In that custom state you add the Text container which will be the popup. It can be a caption or a shape.
      • Add the action 'Go to Next State...' to the button.
      • Instruct the learner to click the button to see the popup, and to click it again to close it.
      • If you leave the option 'Retain state...' unchecked for that button, the original situation (only the icon) will be restored when revisiting the slide.

      This really is not worth a video. It is only one of my suggestions in a blog post

        thank you so much Lily! I'm going to try this now 🙂 at this point I don't really need an "x" to close it I just want it to work haha.

        Multistate objects are so powerful, why do so many users ignore that power?

        Forgot one point: if you use a simple action (Go to Next State...) you need to uncheck 'Continue playing' to avoid releasing the playhead. Maybe you were aware of that?
