Question

I have an issue with audio dropping out part way through a slide published in Captivate 8, HTML5 only, and viewed with IE browser

Has anyone else been experiencing audio problems using HTML5 only and Internet Explorer browsers?

Rahinie, I emailed you the project file you requested.

We solved the issue by installing updated audio drivers. This happened on three different models of HP's.

We've recently created the first of a series of courses in HTML5.

All of the audio is in Captivate. There is a video on the first and last slide which are in web pages inserted as html5 animations, so they are not controlled by Captivate.

Some users with certain computer configurations (Mostly HP 6460) are experiencing audio/video dropout after a certain threshold of megabytes processed.

We did a test with just video, just audio, locally and through http. This issue happens under all circumstances. Once the media cuts out the user needs to reboot to get it back.

We swapped RAM and hard drives and the issue remained. Once the problem occurred we had others log into the same computer, the issue remains.

We reverted back to IE9 and the issue goes away.

We feel that it is an audio (mp3) decoding issue in IE11, all other browsers desktop an mobile play just fine.

We do not feel it is a Captivate issue.

    Hi,

Could you share your sample project so that we can investigate the issue at our end. You can upload it to a shared location (say Dropbox) and send the link to murugath@adobe.com

    Thanks,
