I need a button to activate audio and trigger an object, is this possible?
I suppose it depends on exactly what you mean when you say "trigger an object". If you mean to show a hidden object, with advanced actions it's easy. Just create an action that would first begin playing the audio then reveal the object.
If "trigger an object" means something other than to show it, please post back with what that means to you.

I think that will solve it - however, where is "advanced actions."

Typically, you click Project > Advanced Actions (or press Shift+F9)

I did not see this in Rick's answers, just want to know if you are using
CP9 or earlier version? Default behavior of a simple action is that project
will continue to play even when button has pausing point. An advanced or
shared action will not release the playhead unless you add the command
Continue.

I don't think you did. We already had audio on the slide, we needed the button to trigger new audio - so your solution worked. Hopefully, you can help me with my other issue, found here: Is it possible to allow an open ended response and have a multiple choice quiz on the same slide?

No, Rick, just wanted to warn about that. Why do you say that you screwed it up, your answer was totally correct.
